About Education
The “Securing Networks with Cisco Firepower Next-Generation IPS (SSFIPS)” v4.0 course shows you how to deploy and use Cisco Firepower® Next-Generation Intrusion Prevention System (NGIPS). This hands-on course provides you with the knowledge and skills to use the platform features. These features include firewall security concepts, platform architecture, and core features; in-depth event analysis, including network-based malware and file type detection; NGIPS setup and configuration, including application control, security intelligence, firewall, and network-based malware and file checks; Snort® rules language; file and malware inspection, security intelligence, and network analysis policy configuration designed to detect traffic patterns; configuration and deployment of correlation policies to take action on detected events; troubleshooting; system and user administration tasks, and more.
Prerequisites
- Technical knowledge of TCP/IP networks and network architecture.
- Basic familiarity with Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) and IPS concepts.
Duration of Training
- Instructor-led classroom training: 5 days in class with hands-on laboratory work
- Instructor-led virtual classroom training: 5 days, with web-based lectures and hands-on lab work
- E-learning: Equivalent to 5 days of training, with videos, applications and challenges
